A short introduction to her journey, research interests, and what she is currently building.
Dr. Miriam Chukwuma-Uchegbu holds a PhD in Architecture from Imo State University, Owerri, an MSc with Distinction from Abia State University, and a BSc in Architecture also from Abia State University. She began her career in architectural education in June 2002 and has taught at the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede and, since 2019, at the Department of Architecture, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).
Alongside her academic career, she is a registered architect with the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON, No. F/2561), a full member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA, No. M/2613), and a full member of the Association of Architectural Educators in Nigeria (AARCHES). She also runs CADflair Consult Ltd, her architectural consultancy practice.
Her research spans housing policy, post-occupancy modifications in low-income estates, thermal comfort, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and the future of architectural education in Nigeria. She serves as the South-East Zonal Coordinator of Women Academics in Construction (WAiC), a role she has held since 2025.
